Cindy Brinker, president of Levenson and Brinker Public Relations, serves as the keynote speaker during the September Dallas Northeast Chamber of Commerce luncheon next week at Lakewood Country Club.

The meeting takes place from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Sept. 9. Admission costs $30 for chamber members and $35 for non-members. After Sept. 5, each respective fee increases $5.

New chamber members also will be introduced during the luncheon.

Brinker, according to her official biography, delivers a motivational address. Her mother, tennis pro Maureen "Little Mo" Connolly Brinker, died of cancer in 1969 at age 34. Her death inspired her daughter to write the book "Little Mo's Legacy," which became a television movie.

She's been active in nonprofit groups that raise money for cancer research and in March was appointed by the State of Texas to the Oversight Committee of the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas.
