That "whooshing" sound heard by Woodrow Wilson High School students is the summer going by. School starts in less than three weeks — Aug. 25 — and schedules already are taking shape.

Last Friday marked new uniform day, identification badges are available in the ROTC room, and the class communications officers are in place for the seniors, juniors, sophomores, and freshmen.

Freshmen orientation takes place from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Aug. 14 in the girls gym, while on the other end of the grade-level spectrum, senior class parking space painting day and the associated cookout occur pretty much all day Aug. 23.

The Woodrow PTA also is in place for the 2008-09 school year, and the president, newsletter chair, and corresponding secretary are in place.
